2021 is simply flying by, it’s almost March! We watched Perseverance land on Mars last night and enjoyed the videos they put together illustrating the approach and landing. So we thought we’d put together a little promo video for a bit of fun. It’s about 15 seconds long, and we thought you’d like to see how we did it…
To start with we had to decide on the message, this one is about having idea’s when bored. I don’t know about you, but when I get bored my mind starts to wander, and occasionally a good idea might pop into my head.
We then created four ‘key’ images that take you on the journey we want to lead you on…
Next, we took some elements away from these images to give us some transitions, these images show the main differences…
Finally, we saved all of these frames as high-resolution ‘png’ images and imported them into DaVinci Resolve. If you’ve never heard of DaVinci Resolve before, it’s professional video editing software used on many of today’s big-budget feature films. Despite being a professional movie tool, it’s quite intuitive and suited to many tasks, including simple jobs such as this.
Music in Videos
No video is complete without music, in this case, we wanted a piece of royalty-free music that conveyed a message of hope and success. We found this from the very talented “Bensound”, who has a whole archive of music available.
This was imported into DaVinci Resolve and after a bit of fiddling with timings, we produced a simple promotional video. The music in this video is ‘Energy’ from Bensound.com.
So what do you think?
Please note, we deliberately produced this video at a low resolution as it is for demonstration purposes only.
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into the construction of a simple promotional video. Customer engagement is often higher with videos than images and deployed effectively, they can be a useful tool in your marketing arsenal.
